Join us in downtown Logan for a very special panel titled “Rediscovering Our heritage: Frugality and Stewardship in the LDS Faith This event will feature a panel of LDS youth and church leaders discussing how members are engaged in working toward a sustainable future for our Valley and beyond. Topics discussed will include energy, food, and climate change. All faiths are cordially invited to attend. The audience will have opportunity for comment and questions

Panel member description:

  • Lynn Brenchley, Area Seventy, former Mission President in Australia, retired ICON executive.
  • Ronda Callister: Organizational Behavior Professor in the Huntsman School of Business at Utah State University. Relief Society President in the Dry Canyon Ward
  • Joseph Jackson, Region Welfare Specialist, retired international banker and former bishop.
  • Paul Hansen has worked in the Logan Bishops Storehouse since 1971.
  • Marshall Thomson, an Iraq war veteran who protested the war in 2006 by walking the length of Utah. Marshall also served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
  • Jesse Walker is a USU PhD candidate and the coordinator for the Facebook group "LDS Earth Stewardship" and has a strong interest in the interface of science and religion
  • Kristin (Olsen) Thompson is president of A Soldier's Peace Foundation and of the Cache Valley chapter of Mormon's for Peace and Social Justice.
  • Shannon Moore is a USU student majoring in restoration ecology. She has spent time in Africa with the “Engineers Without Borders” program and conducted rare plant studies in the Lake Powell National Recreation Area.
